Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS), the national trade Association representing Software and IT Enabled Services sector of Bangladesh is going to organize its annual mega exposition BASIS SoftExpo 2010 from February 10-14, 2010 at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC), Dhaka. One of the major aims of the event is to present Bangladesh’s ICT market potentials to the local and international players such as national and international vendors and service providers, investors, development agencies, policy makers and ICT associations etc.

BASIS is expecting more than 200 exhibitors from home and abroad to participate at this mega exposition. The targeted exhibitors include multinational software vendors and ICT companies, international ICT associations, local software development companies, successful ICT projects initiated by multinational and local companies, govt. departments and agencies implementing e-Governance projects, ICT training institutes and universities among others. The number of projected visitors in BASIS SoftExpo 2010 is expected to be around 200,000 which will include CEO/MD/ CTO/CIOs from the corporate world, government decision makers, academia, business leaders, print and electronic media personnel, ICT professionals, ICT users from all over the country and abroad, students and citizens from cross sections of the society. Apart from showcasing of products and services by the exhibitors, a series of workshops and seminars will also be organized during the expo on various issues.

Over 400,000 visitors and delegates attended in the SoftExpo so far.

Over 65 foreign and more than 600 local software and IT enabled services companies participated in the previous expositions.

More than 90 seminars and workshops were addressed by renowned international and local speakers.

"Best IT Use Awards" were given to 38 local organizations for the best IT use.

"IT Talent Search Program" was participated by more than 100 selected young inventors, students & entrepreneurs across the country.

"IT job Fair" created job opportunities for thousands of ICT professionals

The key partners were: Ministry of Science and ICT, Ministry of Commerce, ICT Business Promotion Council, GrameenPhone, AKTEL, Microsoft, Intel, Sun Microsystems, D-link, Nestle, Katalyst, SEDF and UNDP .

This is the biggest ICT exposition in Bangladesh that goes on for 5 days displaying software products, IT Enabled Services and ICT system solutions and takes place only once a year.

A major portion of the visitors are local and international entrepreneurs, key decision makers who look for particular ICT system solutions and/or software.

This is the most effective mega occasion for match-making and creating new business opportunities related to ICT and the biggest market place to find your ICT partners and solutions.
